Liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks are core storage facilities in the LNG industry chain.
Because LNG is typically stored at very low temperatures (around -160°C at atmospheric pressure), the storage tanks must possess strong low-temperature resistance and insulation capabilities. Due to their extremely low storage temperatures, enormous capacity (up to 270,000 cubic meters), and the fact that they do not require refrigeration equipment, they are often referred to as "super cold storage facilities."
LNG storage tanks are mainly divided into atmospheric pressure tanks for large-scale storage and high-pressure tanks for small-scale storage.
