Gas Introduction

Nitrogen: Symbol N, an elemental substance formed by nitrogen, chemical formula Nā‚‚. At normal temperature and pressure, it is a colorless and odorless gas, making up about 78% of our atmosphere. Nitrogen is slightly soluble in water and alcohol. It is non-flammable and considered an asphyxiant gas.

Uses

 

1. In the chemical industry, nitrogen can be used for the production of ammonia, nitric acid, calcium cyanamide, cyanides, hydrogen peroxide, and other compounds. Pure nitrogen is used as a protective gas to prevent oxidation, evaporation, and combustion of flammable substances, and as a filling gas for light bulbs. Liquid nitrogen is mainly used as a cooling source for deep freezing treatments of instruments or machinery and for quick freezing of food. It is also used in low-temperature fine grinding and in the electronics industry.

2. Used in metal smelting, chemical, and mechanical processing industries.

3. Used in fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, animal husbandry, refrigeration, and electronics industries.

4. Used for producing nitric acid, synthetic ammonia, calcium cyanamide, explosives, and others.

5. Used in electrical appliances, food packaging as filling gas, semiconductor device manufacturing processes such as thermal oxidation, epitaxial diffusion, chemical vapor deposition, and also applicable for gas chromatography instruments.

6. Used for freezing extraction of rare gases and deep-cooling treatment of instruments or machinery.

7. Can be used as an air and oxygen dispersant.

8. Nitrogen can also be used as a refrigerant, serving as a direct cooling medium for rapid food freezing; as a packaging gas (to replace residual air in packaging containers to extend shelf life).
